SHUMBA Sports is a Football Development Club that allows under privileged children the opportunity to be part of holistic development programme focused around the transfer of football skills. SHUMBA Football Development blends and unites over 80 young stars of all abilities and cultures from areas such as Olivenhoudt, Sandton, Diepsloot, Tembisa, Bryanston, Cosmo City, Soshanguve and Alexandra. Our primary focus is to address the critical aspect of football skills transfer, whilst the overall goal is to improve the quality of the lives of the young stars, their family’s and the communities. The team trains from Leeuwkop Correctional Services from Monday to Friday, plays games Saturdays and Sundays depending on the Fixture.

SFD aims to offer the most comprehensive development program whereby football is used as a tool to mentor and nurture kids. This currently entails developing individuals through interaction with kids from different social backgrounds while cultivating good sportsmanship and respect for others within a group while having fun.

Sidingo Nxumalo

Position: Goalkeeper
DOB: 1996-10-29
Attributes: The player is very quick, accurate ball distribution, sweeper, flexible, good ball handling, excellent with interception of crosses.

Lehlogonolo Bradley Mojela

Position: Winger
DOB: 1996-09-18
Attributes: The player is very quick, uses both legs, plays left or right wing, good crosses and can score goals. He has good technique, good dribbling skills and very aggressive.

Merafe Ramatlhape

Position: Winger

Attributes: The player is very quick, uses both legs, good crosses, dribbling skills and can score goals. He has good technique, flexible, plays both left and right wing, He is very fast paced.

Shumba FD: 25 goals in 22 games, trialed with Highlands Park in National First Division.

Sphiwe Matlala

Position: Attacking Midfielder
DOB:1995-06-06
Attributes: The player is very quick, powerful shot, good crosses and can score goals. He has good technique, aggressive and left footed.
